Horse Breeding at the Foot of Mount St. Anne - Our History and Philosophy

More than 20 years ago, we embarked on our journey into horse breeding by acquiring a picturesque farm at the foot of Mount St. Anne. Our stud farm was born from a dream to create the perfect environment for breeding, combining the natural beauty of the area with professional care. The hilly landscape, surrounded by lush beech forests, provides our horses with ideal conditions for both life and development.

Our horses thrive in this unique environment, which promotes their physical health and overall well-being. The proximity to nature, along with a thoughtfully designed infrastructure, creates optimal conditions for their growth. In our breeding program, we focus on the careful selection of parents and meticulous training, allowing us to offer horses with exceptional potential.

We tend to every aspect of our horses’ lives, ensuring they have comfortable living conditions and a nurturing social environment. Well-designed stalls and pastures, along with integration with other horses and humans, positively influence their emotional and social development.

"Szlachetnego konia nie ceni się za jego siłę, ale za jego charakter."

The History of Our Horse Stables - Continuing the Renard Family Legacy

Our horse farm is part of the larger complex that once belonged to the renowned Renard family. The origins of their horse breeding operation date back over 200 years, to 1825, when the Renard family began breeding thoroughbred English horses. The main stables were located in Olszowa, while the most valuable horses were housed at the castle stables in Strzelce Opolskie. The Renard family quickly gained a reputation for their exceptional skill and passion for breeding. It wasn’t long before the racehorses they bred achieved success at prestigious racecourses in Newmarket, Cambridge, and Berlin. Their abilities attracted widespread attention within the equestrian community, and Renard horses became a symbol of quality and excellence.

In 1865, the founder’s son, Johannes Renard, established the ‘Deutschland Union-Klub,’ a prominent organization that united horse breeders across Germany. The club promoted horse breeding and racing while standardizing competition regulations. Johannes Renard gained further recognition for breeding a horse named Hochstapler, who, in 1873, became the first German horse to win an international race in Baden-Baden. His achievements were honored through the annual Renard-Rennen races held at the Hoppegarten racecourse in Berlin.

After the Second World War, the breeding of Silesian horses, descended from Oldenburg horses, began at the former German stud, which became known as the State Stud ‘SK Strzelce Opolskie.’
